Laboratory experience
Master's project:
- Managed wildtype and CRISPR/Cas9 zpld1 mutant zebrafish generated in collaboration with Richardson's laboratory at the University of Sussex
- Collaborated with the Centre for Sustainable Aquatic Research based in Swansea Unversity to collect zebrafish embryos/larvae at different time points using a microscope
- Planned and executed total RNA isolation at different developmental zebrafish stages, synthesised complementary DNA and performed a series of quantitative polymerase chain (qPCR) and PCR analyses
- Planned a behavioural experiment to assess zebrafish's sense of balance upon zpld1 knockout. Developed MATLAB codes to quantify zebrafish's time spent near the walls and angular changes in head direction over time based on swimming trajectories obtained from DeepLabCut
