  • Founded UK regsitered private company to develop patented pyrometallurgical process to recover waste metals from refinery slag.
  • Completed initial scoping and other optimisation studies resulting in an option being taken on the Minex Process commercialisation by a major multinational.the Minex Process.
  • Scoria held the global licences for the process and is raised in excess of $6M to complete studies and evaluation of the market for the Minex Process.
  • World Bank estimates there are several hundred million tonnes of this waste product globally which could be converted into secondary metal production. The Minex Process also decontaminates these waste dumps by removal of the toxic contents and furthermore produces a commercially viable by product. Process has attracted the interest of several major and mid cap companies including Penoles, Vale and Glencore.

  • Identified a significant iron resource in the waste dumps which was amenable to magnetic seperation and which could generate immediate cashflow for the recommissioning of the underground mine and plant.
  • Led strategic review of the geological data for the project and identified potential for significant increase in reported resource.
  • Negotiated contract for 3rd party small scale mineral extraction from the mine in order to reduce ongoing overheads.
  • Managed development of engineering and financial studies to allow negotiations to be undertaken with lenders and strategic partners.

  • Managed development of power supply to FS level with third party consultants.
