Summary

I fell in love with Blockchain. The ethos of the decentralized network is beautiful. The realm of possibilities that this technology can bring us is impressive. I'm ecstatic that I can work to make a more decentralized world.

I contributed to growing Cartesi, The Blockchain OS, through BD activities, forging partnerships, providing strategic thinking, and delivering implementation.

Before joining the blockchain space, I had experience as a professional negotiator. I have led complex negotiations with companies, helping to build and maintain new ventures and partnerships. I also negotiated with Government agents and suppliers. Exciting times!

A remarkable memory was speaking at a TEDx event when I presented how negotiation can contribute to a better world. It was a life-changing and emotional experience for me, as you can watch in the recording (subtitled).

Cartesi brings the first Operating System - Linux to the Blockchain. It offers a Layer-2 Optimistic Rollups scalability modular execution solution.

  • Drove the project's growth from 20 to 60 contributors by hiring and onboarding key contributors and structuring departments.
  • Designed and implemented the Cartesi Labs grants system.
  • Increased the number of developers working in the ecosystem by 25x from dozens to hundreds through events, hackathons, ideathons, grants, and community building.
  • I negotiated integration and partnership agreements with Layer-1s protocols.
  • Closed deals for research and development with universities (UFF, IMPA, and Audencia Nantes) and companies.
  • Joined and represented Cartesi in associations (Ethereum Enterprise Alliance - EEA and Portuguese Blockchain Alliance), increasing the project awareness, influence, and connections in the ecosystem.

  • Also, the USD 2.9 bn Roncador Oil Field Sale. Following, I worked in the transition and joint-venture management.
  • In two months, finalized the USD 100 mi Frade Oil Field sale deal.
  • Overcame a deadlock with a strategic supplier, saving USD 30 mi and avoiding litigation.
  • Dealt with the Environmental Agency for better conditions for emergency response, resulting in a USD 40 mi economy.
  • Solved a deadlock in a partnership, mitigating the chance of a possible USD 400 mi loss.
  • Got a deal with a partner, with savings of USD 30 mi due to a specific financial clause I negotiated.
  • Developed new contractual models, establishing the current market business practices.
