António Martins

Versatile writer-actor with background in theater and cinema. Multi-talented self starter and team player. Always looking forward to grasping new challenges, particularly creative ones, and telling stories. Cinephile who's quite enthusiastic about developing all kinds of healthy discussions involving not only cinema, but also literature, culture and other art forms.

In high school (Colégio Pedro Arrupe):

• Co-wrote, co-directed and starred in an amateur play called O que andámos até aqui chegar (What we did to get here). Had the opportunity to work with dozens of people and enhance a vast array of skills: producing, communication, cooperation, teamwork, directing, acting, writing and dancing.
• Was part of the student's council's entertainment group. Helped organize several events, especially sports nights where I spent most of my time at a booth not only preparing and serving people food and drinks, but also monitoring and stashing the money.
• My team won a debating tournament that involved all junior year students, which consequently led to us participating in a debating competition between four different schools.

Acting:

• Did workshops and one intense acting course at A Casa do Artista.
• Spent about three years in total doing theatre in the various schools I studied at.
• Starred in two short films for university: Layered Shells and De Volta às 9:20.

University:

• Completed the first year of Applied Mathematics at University of Lisbon's Faculty of Sciences. Possess some mathematical knowledge.
• Co-wrote three plays, two of which co-directed and starred in, for the classes "Theatre and Literature", "Introduction to Theatre Practice" and "Analysis of the Dramatic Text"

Volleyball:

• Have been playing volleyball amateurishly since the age of fourteen.
• In 9th grade, won a volleyball competition at Maristas de Lisboa while representing my school, Colégio Pedro Arrupe.

Volunteering:

• Volunteered at a Studying Center to tutor mathematics.
